Was Larry part of the Lumbee tribe, or you just assuming Larry will be happy with the federal government recognizing more native American tribes in general?

Old video, pretty sure I've seen that posted in TNCR years ago. @George-K said in That water got gators in it?: Never tasted gator. What's it like? Had gator tail meat in corn dusted, fried nugget from. Tasted like chicken nugget, slightly more chewy.

@George-K Never had any of my horses needing a twitching. The only ones that needed a twitch were Arabians. Invariably the studs and one gelding who for some reason never realized he was a gelding - vet confirmed too that he wasn’t gelded proud. Used him as a teaser for the breeding mares. He’d get the mares in the mood then he’d get switched out at the last minute for the stud.

@taiwan_girl said in Brit Mysteries: @George-K said in Brit Mysteries: If I want to get depressed, I'll watch it again. Very true. It was tough to watch from that point of view. I watched it with no expectations. Yeah. Good but...geez....

@kluurs I think that the Chinese government has the "ultimate" control over Tik Tok, so while they may not publicly have 50%+ of the shares, I think that they do function as the owner and have the power to make "big picture" decisions for the company.

@taiwan_girl flares. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flare_(countermeasure) A flare or decoy flare is an aerial infrared countermeasure used by an aircraft to counter an infrared homing ("heat-seeking") surface-to-air missile or air-to-air missile. Flares are commonly composed of a pyrotechnic composition based on magnesium or another hot-burning metal, with burning temperature equal to or hotter than engine exhaust. The aim is to make the infrared-guided missile seek out the heat signature from the flare rather than the aircraft's engines. Link to video Link to video

@Horace said in LEAN into it?: @Aqua-Letifer Thanks for expanding on your point. I didn't mean to imply that personal resonances in the reader should not exist. I take your point that Tolkien wanted to impress on everybody that he had no specific allegory in mind, but that he embraces the fact that readers will take their own abstract messages. Beyond the detesting allegory thing, I was referring to this, from that same prologue: The prime motive was the desire of a tale teller to try his hand at a long story, that would hold the attention of readers, amuse them, delight them, and at times maybe excite them or deeply move them. Yeah, that makes sense and in my mind is not contradictory. Whether you're John Creasey, crankin' out another paperback over the weekend or Tolkien, developing a deep story with massive cultural resonances, your book is going to suck if it's not engrossing. But that's not all that it was to him. He admits it here: It was not what I set out to write, but it is what it has become.

If pardons didn't exist, it would be unthinkable to add them to the constitution. Weakening them is probably well and good.

@George-K said in Meanwhile, in the garage...: Where would one get the lumber to mill? When I was building, I'd buy S2S and have the store edge-joint one side. They charged $1 a board for that service. Stuff that small? People would give it to you.

Growing up, the most popular toothpaste in Taiwan was called "Darkie". I think in the mid 1990's they changed the name. But you have to understand, it was not meant to be racist. Most people in Taiwan had never see a black person before. [image: DarkieToothpaste_new.jpg]
